Rosella “Sally” Catherine Hawker, age 91, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Hillcrest Health Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Mankato, MN, with Rev Tim Reker, officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m., Tuesday at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., North Mankato, with a 3:45 pm Rosary Service. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.

Rosella was born March 9, 1925, in Mankato to Joseph and Mary (Tacheny) Drummer. She attended Tivoli country school. On September 26, 1944, she married Harold Hawker in Mankato.

She was employed by Lake Crystal Nursing Home in housekeeping for 30 years and was a homemaker for her family.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking (especially soup on Saturday mornings) playing cards, reading and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by children; Larry (Bev) Hawker, Lake Crystal MN, Gary (Sharon) Hawker, Orrstown, PA, Mary Lou (Tom) Karels, St. Clair, MN, Jerry (Marsha) Hawker, Lake Crystal, MN, Pat (Tim) Frank, Roscoe, IL, Diane (Mark) Frank, Eagle Lake, MN, Dan (Karen) Hawker, Eagle Lake, MN, Nancy (Larry) Bryant, Carl Junction MO, John (Julie) Hawker, Mankato, MN, Mike (Judy) Hawker, Lake Crystal, MN; daughter-in-law, Deb Hawker, Lake Crystal, MN; 28 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Marion Johnson, Delores Rykhus, Geraldine Decker; sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Bob) Quinn; brother, Harry (LuAnn) Drummer; sisters-in-law, Frieda Westphal, LaVaughn Drummer, and Dorothy Drummer.

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sons, Robert and Bill; grandsons, Bill Karels, Adam Hawker; great-granddaughter, Hailey Hawker; sisters, Hildegard Denn and Olivia Heminover; brothers, Ray and John Drummer; brothers-in-law, Burt Denn, Stan Johnson, Wally Decker, Larry Heminover and John Rykhus; and Harold’s siblings.
