Arlaine Hazel Victoria Jones, age 88, of North Mankato, died Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016, at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before the service at church. Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church.
Arlaine was born February 28, 1928, in Mankato to Walter and Hazel (Johnson) Farm. She was baptized in her faith on March 20, 1928, at Belgrade Lutheran Church (currently Grace Lutheran Church), where she was a member her entire life. Arlaine attended Belgrade Country School and was a 1945 graduate of Mankato High School. As a youth, she participated in the County 4-H activities as well as the Belgrade Luther League.
Arlaine was united in marriage to Erwin W. Jones on May 31, 1947. They lived southeast of Mankato where they raised their three children and Erwin started an auto mechanic business. Arlaine was employed as a legal secretary with Judge Milton Mason and also worked at the Blue Earth County Courthouse in Mankato. She enjoyed all family activities, cooking for her family and relatives, family vacations, and traveling with friends throughout the U.S. Arlaine was proud of her Swedish heritage and traveled to Sweden three times to visit relatives. She volunteered for the church Circle Group and the neighborhood Extension Group.
Arlaine is survived by her three children, Valerie (Greg) Stoffel of Kasota, Deanne (Patrick) Doherty of Zimmerman, and Ron (Christie) Jones of Chaska; grandchildren, Casey Burns, Ryan (Sara) Doherty, Jason (Diana) Doherty, Nikki (Dan) Lowis, Tammi (Ryan) Hiniker, Cheralynn (Troy) Gangl, and Melissa Jones; great-grandchildren, Carter and Payton Lowis, Blake Hiniker, Graham and Leo Doherty, Dylan, Jack, Barrett, and Rowan Doherty, and Ellie Gangl; one brother, Don (Esther) Farm of Mankato. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hazel; husband of 53 years, Erwin; brother, Bob (Ginny) Farm; sister, Lillian (Ray) Thorn; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Dahl.
