Kenneth ‘Ken’ Vern Hoppe passed away Thursday afternoon, October 13, 2016 at home, at the age of 75.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary. Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior.
He was born July 2, 1941, the son of Vern and Evelyn (Johnson) Hoppe in Truman, MN. He was a graduate of Fairmont high school, and then graduated with an Electronics degree from the Mankato Vocational Technical School. He was united in marriage to Mary Anne Anderson on October 12, 1963 in Mankato, MN. He worked for Mankato Citizens Telephone Company for 46 ½ years and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Ken was an avid hunter. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bow hunting, canoeing, playing cards, golfing, spending time at the farm and with his family and friends. Ken never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone and discover how their lives were entwined.
Ken is survived by his wife, Mary Anne; children, Suzanne (Randy) Seedorf of Eden Prairie, Brian (Natalie) Hoppe of North Mankato; grandchildren, Robert, Derek, Tyler and Brianna; brothers, Kevin (Kathy) Hoppe of Blanchard, OK, Kim (Doris) Hoppe of Ceylon, Keith (Pam) Hoppe of Stacy; sisters, Sherry (Bruce) Marx of Oklahoma City, OK, Joanne (Mike) Bettin of Fairmont; mother-in-law, Leola (Vos) Anderson of St. James; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Judy Magallanez, father-in-law, Ralph Anderson and, sister-in-law, Margaret Warling.
