Marian Irene (Fox) Hoehn, age 89, of Mankato and formerly of Madison Lake, died Friday, October 7, 2016, at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake, with Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the mass at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to All Saints Catholic Church or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
Marian was born February 24, 1927, in Waseca County to Mathew Henry and Grace Mary (Kaiser) Fox. She attended school in Pemberton. On August 30, 1944, Marian married Kenneth William Hoehn of Madison Lake, at St. Mary’s Church in rural Waseca. She lived with her parents while Kenny was in the service during World War II. When the war ended, Kenny returned home and they moved to Madison Lake where they lived most of their lives. In July 2004, they moved into the charming garden style house that they built in Mankato. Kenny’s health deteriorated and he passed away in October 2006. Marian sold their home and then resided at Keystone Senior Living in upper Mankato until her death.
Marian worked for Roemer’s Grocery, which later became Brinkman’s Grocery Store in Madison Lake. For several years, she was a partner in the Creamery Country Crafts and Antiques in Madison Lake. Marian was a member and past president of St. Anne’s Altar Society, All Saints Church and a member of the Madison Lake Legion Auxiliary. Marian was a busy homemaker and mother. Family was always her first priority. Kenny and Marian were blessed with seven children. Those children, their spouses, and her grand & great-grandchildren contributed to endless joy and happiness for Marian. She treasured those fun-filled days of bowling, dancing, camping, cards (especially bridge), traveling in the States and overseas along with their many friends.
Marian is survived by her children: Karen (Duane) Fischer of Waterville, Gerald (Nancy) Hoehn of Fifty Lakes, Julie Kroubetz of New Ulm, Larry (Shelley) Hoehn of Mankato, Laurie (Tim) Thro of North Mankato, Randy (Dawn) Hoehn of North Mankato and Chris (Sheila) Hoehn of Crosslake; 17 grandchildren: Dawn (Mike) Johnson, Damon (Andrea) Fischer, Jeremy (Maija) Hoehn, Heather Johnson, Shannon (John) Jimenez, Kimberly (Mark) Johnson, Michelle (Mark) Jensen, Jason (Amy) Hoehn, Alek Thro, Jenna Thro (Julee Burns), Chelsey, Justin, Logan Hoehn, Rhen (Kylin ) Hoehn, Danielle (J.P.) Mahoehney, Isaac & Andre Hoehn; 19 great-grandchildren; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by Kenneth, her husband of 62 years; her parents, Mathew & Grace Fox; brothers, Francis (Leone) and Kenneth (Delores) Fox and sisters, Kathleen (Art) Hutchins and Helen (Charles) Conroy; parents-in-law, Louis and Mary (Blaha) Hoehn; and 1 step-grandchild, Nicholas Johnson.Wednesday, October 12, 2016
