Robert L. Siirtola

Robert Louis Siirtola, 64 of North Mankato, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Healthcare System, Mankato.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2016 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Northview and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Bob was born December 27, 1951 to Felix and Eloise (Olson) Siirtola in Bismarck, ND. He graduated from Wing High School, Wing, ND, in 1969. After high school, he moved to Mankato to find a job. There he met and married Vickie Schwantes in 1975 in Good Thunder. Together they raised their daughter, Nicole. Bob retired in 2013 from 30 plus years at Kato Engineering. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on his 1951 Ford. As a loving, caring, and helpful man, Bob will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by many.

Bob is survived by his wife, Vickie of North Mankato; Daughter, Nicole (Eric Johnson) Siirtola of Mankato; Grandchildren, Hunter and Jasmyn; siblings, JoAnn (Harry) Braun, Gene (Melinda) Siirtola, Jim (Karmen) Siirtola, Roland (Elaine) Siirtola, Joyce (Tim) Rogers, and Sandra Hochhalter; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends; He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sam; and father and mother-in-law, Otto and Doris Schwantes.
