Loretta Clara Severns, 89, of Mankato, died on Monday, September 19, 2016.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 23 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Loretta was born on August 30, 1927 in LeRay Township, Blue Earth County to Leo and Anna (Daschner) Sieberg. She attended Eagle Lake Elementary School. Loretta was united in marriage to Willard Byron Severns on November 20, 1947 in Mankato. She worked at Automatic Electric, Valley View News, and she was a homemaker, raising her five bratty children. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, flowers, watching soap operas, facebook, computer games, and shopping on ebay. Loretta made many rosaries for missions in Guatemala.
Loretta is survived by four children, Alan Severns of Mankato, Joyce (Dan) Boyce of Ham Lake, John (Marina) Severns of Elysian, and Ann (Bob) Cline of Mapleton; two grandchildren, Neil (Kami) Bruender and Calissa Boyce; great-grandson, Gavin Bruender; sister, Mary Ann Oberle; brother, Ollie (Jeanne) Sieberg; and sister-in-law, Agnes Sieberg. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard; daughter, Carol Bruender; two sisters, Marciella and Delores; three brothers, Marvin, Cletus, and Raymond; brothers-in-law, Louie Schimek, Earl Gens, and Tony Oberle; and two sisters-in-law, Cecelia Sieberg and Joeann Sieberg.
