Marlene Therese Swanson

Marlene Therese Swanson, 71, of Madison Lake, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at her home. 

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at Calvary All Saints Cemetery.  Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marlene was born on May 31, 1945 in Mankato to Clayton and Adeline (Frederick) Tarpy.  She attended All Saints Catholic School and Good Counsel Academy.  She was united in marriage to John C. Swanson on October 16, 1965.  Marlene devoted her career to helping others as a nurse’s aide and retired from Good Counsel nursing home. 

Marlene is survived by her husband, John C. Swanson of Madison Lake; two sons, Eric J. (Janelle) Swanson of Eau Claire, WI and John C. (Kristen) Swanson of Mankato; six grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, Jayme, Logan, Justin, and Nicholas; beloved sisters, Delores Hoehn, Bonnie (Robert) Lundgren, and Bernice (Vern) Lundgren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerome (Midge) Tarpy; sister, Lavonne Weed; brother-in-law, Jack Hoehn; niece, Cheryl Lundgren; and nephew, Mike Tarpy.
