Lois E. Hansen

Lois E. Hansen, 67, of Kasota, died on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Kasota. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at Minneopa Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to First Presbyterian Church in Kasota.

Lois was born on April 27, 1949 in Mankato to Lynn and Adeline (Connelly) Hansen.  She graduated from the St. Peter High School in 1967.  She received an associates degree in child development.  Lois was a head start teacher in St. Peter and Mankato.  She always had a way of connecting with all children.  She also worked at the Mankato and North Mankato Libraries.  Lois was a daycare provider.  Lois was a member of the Early Childhood Association and the Caring and Sharing Association.  Lois enjoyed reading, looking at old cookbooks, cooking, watching movies, craft and handiwork shows, spending time with family, attending her nieces and nephews activities and events. 

Lois is survived by her mother, Adeline of Kasota; siblings, Phyllis (Tom) Maloney of Mankato, Kathy Sondergaard of Mankato, Marleen (August) Goettl of Mankato, Karen Hruby of DePere, WI, Brenda (Joe) Loeffler of Mankato, Dennis Hansen of Kasota,  Ron (Kim) Hansen of Mapleton, Sherry (Bob) Lorentz of Lake Crystal, and Connie (Bob) Ryan of St. Peter; brother-in-law, Ron Mulder; 19 nieces and nephews; 28 great-nieces and nephews; and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lynn; brothers, Bernie Hansen and Jerry Hansen; and sister, Sandy Mulder.
