MaryAnn Jenkins, 81, of Mapleton, passed away August 31, 2016.  Service will be held Wednesday, September 7th at St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment at Sterling Cemetery. 

 

MaryAnn Jenkins was born March 4, 1935 to Annes M. Osmundson and Harriet K (Grothe) Weber. She grew up on the family farm in rural Delavan and was raised by her Aunt Mary and Uncle Albert Osmundson.  MaryAnn graduated from Delavan School in 1953.  On June 20, 1957, MaryAnn married Norman Gene Jenkins at the East Lutheran Church near Delavan.  They started a family soon after marriage, welcoming two sons and two daughters, Mark Norman, Mary Kathryn, Terri Ann and Thomas Douglas.

 

In life MaryAnn was busy with various endeavors: Running the Delavan Café; waitressing (Club 22, Bergie's Café, Weise's Café, Andy's Café and The Torchlight).  As well as owning her own business (The Fashion Fling/Fashion Fling North) with co-owner, Laverne Yunker.  She also loved to entertain (faculty Halloween Parties, Dinner Parties, after sporting event gatherings and family Holidays) dancing, and her bridge gatherings. In addition, MaryAnn enjoyed spending time Up North at Breezy Point, MN, Down South in Cape Coral, Fl. as well as by the river in Stillwater, MN 

 

MaryAnn leaves behind husband, Norman Gene; daughters, Mary Kathryn (Terry Walters), Terri Ann; son, Thomas Douglas (Angela); grandchildren, Daniel, Derek, Nicole (Jake Hunt), Lucinda (Jeremy Betts), Blake and Skyler; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Annastyn; half-brothers, Douglas (Cary) Weber, Thomas Weber and Terry Weber; step-brothers, Bruce Hooper and Mark (Valerie) Hooper; as well as numerous other relatives and friends including, Franz, Anna and Angelika Kaulfersch.  MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Annes Osmundson, Harriet Weber, Nettie Fern Osmundson and Milton Weber; step-brother, Wayne Hooper; son, Mark Norman; and granddaughter, Angel MaCayla.

 

Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
