Ruth "Rudy" Scheidel passed away on August 27, 2016.
Ruth Mary Forseth was born on December 2, 1925 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the
daughter of Fritz A and Lillian (Daniels) Forseth. She attended Carleton College and the
University of Minnesota, where she met Alois M Scheidel. On August 14, 1948, after
her graduation with a degree in Social Work, they married in her hometown of
Aberdeen. When Al finished medical school they settled in Mankato and raised six
children. Rudy lived for several years at Laurels Peak in Mankato until her death.
Ruth Mary is survived by her husband, Al Scheidel and their six children: Ann (Joe)
Keenan, Mankato; Mark (Teresa Devney) Scheidel, Mankato; Mary (Brad) Nett, Grand
Rapids, MN; Catherine (Mark) Brumm, Apple Valley, MN; Elizabeth (Mark) Schramm,
Prior Lake, MN; Jane Scheidel, Burnsville, MN; 14 grandchildren and 15 great
grandchildren as well as two brothers, Roger Forseth of Superior, WI and Fred Forseth
of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest brother John
Forseth.
Rudy's family is planning a private ceremony in celebration of her life.
