Wilma Ruth Krause, age 95, of North Mankato, died Friday, August 26, 2016, at Vista Prairie at Monarch Meadows in North Mankato.
A Celebration of Wilma’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato with Pastor Libby Englehorn of Crossview Covenant Church, officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m., Tuesday at Northview. Interment will be in the Mountain Lake Cemetery.
Wilma Ruth was born June 15, 1921, in Mountain Lake, MN, to Peter P. and Mary (Linscheid) Franz. She was a 1939, graduate of Mountain Lake High School and attended Mountain Lake Bible School. After being united in marriage to David Krause on December 21, 1943, in Mountain Lake, MN, they farmed in the Mountain Lake area. In 1971, they moved to North Mankato where they owned and operated a ServiceMaster cleaning business. Wilma was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake and the Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato. For many years, Wilma taught Sunday School, participated in women’s Bible study groups, and was involved with missionary support activities. She enjoyed embroidering, reading, gardening, cooking, baking, and lovingly caring for her home and family. Her joy came in honoring God by humbly serving others.
Wilma is survived by her four children, Richard (Fay) Krause of North Mankato, Gordon (Lori) Krause of Mountain Lake, Mary (Dave) Wilson of Omaha, NE, and Diane (Jim) Meyers of North Mankato; seven grandchildren, Stan (Handan) Krause, Lana (David) Scanlan, Mike Krause, Gretchen Krause, Andy Wilson, Andrea (Darren) Kaltved, and Luke (Kelly) Meyers; five great-grandchildren, Tanner Krause, Sema Krause, Izzy Wilson, Crosby Kaltved, and Adler Meyers; two brothers, Willard Franz of St. James and Harris (Lorraine) Franz of New Ulm; two sisters-in-law, Marie Callendar of Montana and Tina Duerksen of Mountain Lake; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David on May 22, 2007; infant granddaughter, Allison Meyers; infant brother, Harlan Franz; and sister, Marcella Wiebe.
