Randy P. Friedrichs

Randy Phillip Friedrichs, 64, of Mankato was called home to our heavenly father on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Healthcare Systems, Mankato.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2016 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, in North Mankato and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato with military honors. A celebration of life with follow at the American Legion Post 11 in Mankato.

Randy was born March 27, 1952 to Paul and Marcella (Weingartz) Friedrichs in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1970. From 1970 to 1972, he served in the United States Army in Germany.  On September 21, 1974 he married Candy Hansen. Together they raised their son, Phillip. Randy worked for Jim Fallenstein and Waste Management.

In his free time, Randy enjoyed cooking, grilling, old cars, fishing and most of all spending time with his beautiful granddaughter Kayley. Twice a year he looked forward to fishing trips out to South Dakota and Red Lake with family and friends. Randy was known to be a loving and caring man with a big heart. He especially enjoyed spending time with all of his family and will be greatly missed by many.

Randy is survived by his wife, Candy of over 41 years; son, Phillip Friedrichs; granddaughter, Kayley Friedrichs; step-granddaughter, Erin; step-great-grandson, Riddick; siblings, Terry (Joenilla Robertson) Friedrichs, Pat (Craig) Nielsen, and Tim Friedrichs; adopted brother, Rick Pyzick; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Wayne) Fahning, Paula (Bob) Blume, Bev Martens, and Sandy Friedrichs; brothers-in-law, Ron “Pud” (Peggy Volk) Hansen and Dan (Sue) Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gloria Wilson; brothers, Joe Friedrichs, and Elmer Friedrichs; niece, Candie Marie Wilson; sister-in-law, Renee Stoltzman; and brother-in-law, Rick Martens.
