Marvilla Diane Buck, 79, of Mankato, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Laurel’s Peak Rehabilitation Center. 

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Good Sheperd Lutheran Church in North Mankato with visitation from 9am-11am.  Pastor Vance Becker will be officiating. Marvilla will be buried with her husband Merlyn at Minneopa Cemetery following lunch at the church. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marvilla was born September 22, 1936 in Green Isle, MN to Fred and Ella (Burdorf) Fries. She graduated from Arlington Green Isle High School in 1955. On June 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Merlyn in Arlington, MN and they made their home in Mankato, MN. She was a homemaker for many years, and also worked at National Poly and the Mankato Parking Ramp.  She was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church.  Marvilla enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, playing cards, working around home, and taking care of her family. 

Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Buck, Brenda (Robert) Hortenbach, Gregory (Jennifer) Buck; sisters, Marlene (Frank Fehland) Paulson, Mary Ann (Eldred) Harder, Kathy (Leonard) Biersdorf; sister-in-law, Geraldine Kroells; brothers-in-law, Norman (Joanne) Buck, John (Deb) Buck; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Laurie; and her parents.
