Bruce Ira Budde

Bruce I. Budde, age 72, of North Mankato, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.  Burial will be on Thursday, August 18 at 10 a.m. at Kern’s Oak Grove Cemetery in Belgrade Township. 

Bruce was born on July 16, 1944 in Mankato to Ira and Marjorie (Door) Budde.  He graduated from Mankato High School in 1962.  Bruce earned a biology degree from Mankato State University.  He farmed for a short time. He was a meter reader for the gas company. He was married to Carol, and during that time he adopted her son, Mike. Carol and Bruce later separated.  Bruce was a historian and loved reading and traveling.  Bruce was a very pleasant person to visit with.

Bruce is survived by his sister, Jean Newcomb of Hopedale, MA, cousin, Dean Budde of North Mankato, and his conservator and friend, Tom Depuydt of North Mankato.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Grace (Jim) Ranft.
