Barbara Jean Hoffman Conley, age 56, died, Saturday, July 30, 2016, at her Mankato home.
Memorial Service Celebrating Barb’s Life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before service at the church. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (mnovarian.org) or to the donor’s choice.
Barb was born December 2, 1959, in Mankato to Richard L. and Nancy (Anderson) Hoffman. She was a graduate of East High School and attended the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State University, Mankato. She married Patrick Conley on March 28, 1992, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato. She was a Realtor with Century 21 Landmark Realtors. Barb enjoyed writing, traveling, skiing, golfing, being at the lake, and spending time with her husband and children, extended family, and friends.
Barb is survived by her husband, Patrick, of Mankato; two children, Rachel and Logan Conley, of Mankato; two brothers, Tom (Mary) Hoffman and David (Rose) Hoffman, of Mankato; two sisters, Patti (David) Bye, of Mankato, and Jane Hoffman, of Buffalo; 10 nephews, A.J. Hoffman (fiancée Andrea Kroll) of Shakopee, Matt (Stephanie) Hoffman, of Barrington Hills, Ill., Sam Hoffman of Denver, Colo., Owen Bessette-Reiter, Liam Reiter, Finn Reiter, and Sullivan Reiter, of Minneapolis; and Joseph Conley, Jimmy Conley, and Jack Conley, of St. Paul; six nieces, Kristin (Paul) Eberth, of Duluth, Lori (Will Kroenke) Bye, of North Mankato, Tessa (Eric) Syverson, of Burnsville, Carey Hoffman, of Vail, Colo., Lily Reiter of Minneapolis, and Mary Conley of St. Paul; mother-in-law, Mary Conley of Owatonna; brothers-in-law, Ed (Emily) Conley and Brad Conley, of St. Paul; and sisters-in-law, Kathleen Hoffman of Mankato, and Cindy (Elliott Graham) Conley and Kelley (Nate) Reiter, of Minneapolis.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Hoffman; father-in-law, Francis Conley; nephews, Nick Hoffman and Wesley Bessette-Reiter.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, and the Mayo Clinic Hospice in Mankato, with special thanks to Dr. Matthew Block of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Family members are eternally grateful to the tremendous people in Barb’s life who supported her during her battle with ovarian cancer.
