Kendra Kaye Leibfried

Kendra Kaye Leibfried, 13, of Mankato, died on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at her home after a brave 10 month battle with brain cancer. 

Funeral service will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary in North Mankato, MN with a Time of Sharing at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Please wear your Team Kendra shirt or purple or pink to the visitation.

Kendra was born on May 1, 2003 in Mankato to Tim and Brenda (Nielsen) Leibfried.  She attended Care Corner Day Care and then Franklin Elementary School from kindergarten through 6th grade.  She was active in band and orchestra playing the flute and violin.  She was also on the student council.  Kendra completed 7th grade through Mankato East Junior High.  Kendra was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church where she was baptized and received her first communion.  She danced at Dance Conservatory for five years.  She loved to dance, play tennis, go on walks, play cards, games, camping, and going to the zoo.  Kendra enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed school.

 
Kendra is survived by her parents, Tim and Brenda of Mankato; brother, Tyler of Mankato; grandparents, Richard and Eileen Nielsen of Arco and Mark and Julie Leibfried of Ivanhoe; great-grandma, Helen Olson of Willmar; aunts, uncles and cousins, Brian Nielsen of Bloomington, Bruce Nielsen of Richfield, Michelle (Ben) Bloch of Ivanhoe and their children, Bridgette (fiancé, Andrew Swanson), Allison, and Kimberly, Brian (Jessica) Leibfried of Marshall and their children, Zach, Josh, Katelyn, and Isaac, Jeff (Lindsay) Leibfried of Marshall and their children, Corbin, Griffin, and Landrey, and Shawn (Steph) Leibfried of Marshall and their son, Drake.
