Deanna Lorraine Thomas, age 78, of Mankato, died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato.  Memorials are preferred to the Twin Cities Shriners Children’s Hospital.

Deanna was born August 25, 1937, in St. James.  She was the daughter of Roy and Kathryn (Barge) Bowers.  Deanna was a 1955 graduate of St. James High School and later attended Mankato State College.  She was united in marriage to Stafford Thomas on September 12, 1959, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA.  They later divorced.  Deanna was employed with several real estate companies and was a founding partner of Action Realty.  She was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  Deanna enjoyed garage sales, interior decorating, crafts, fish aquariums, playing cards, cooking, Elvis Presley music, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Deanna is survived by her children, Denise Thomas of Plymouth, Bruce (Terri) Thomas of Rochester, and Chuck (Jane) Thomas of Mankato; six grandchildren, Kaitlin (Byron) Fuller, Brittany (fiancé, Josh) Thomas, Nicholas (Jess) Thomas, Danielle (Mark) Walchuk, Andrea Thomas, and Morgan Thomas; one great-grandchild, Brayden Murphy; one sister, Sharon (Gary) Skarset of Rapid City, SD; one brother, Darrell Bowers of Redwood Falls; step-father, Dennis Schmillen of Madelia; also many nieces and nephews.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Bowers and Kathryn Schmillen; and ex-husband, Stafford in 2004.
