Warren Lee Stamereilers, 67 of Mankato, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Oak Lawn Healthcare Center after a courageous battle with prostate cancer.
Memorial service will be held at 4pm, Friday, June 24, 2016 at Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior.Pastor Mike Omtvedt will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Warren was born August 7, 1948 in Mankato to John and Nina (Theelke) Stamereilers. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army on April 29, 1968 during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on April 23, 1970. He was united in marriage to Barbara Fries in July 1972. Warren worked as a truck driver for several years before starting his career with Southern Minnesota Construction. In his spare time, Warren enjoyed drinking coffee at the Happy Chef and tinkering around the house.
Survivors include his children, Jenny Stamereilers of North Mankato, Dawn (John) Ervin of Garden City, James (Shana Jackson) Stamereilers of St. Peter, and Daniel Stamereilers of North Mankato; grandchildren, Kristina Rodriguez, Tyler Adams, Taylor Adams, Tyler Friedrichs, and Ryan Friedrichs; brothers, Orville and Duane Stamereilers; and close friends, Jason and Teresa Martz, and Barb Youell. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara in 2010; and grandson, Zachary Rodriguez.
