Muriel Enid Forrey, age 87, of Mankato, died Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Oak Terrace in Jordan.

Funeral Service will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary.  Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Muriel was born December 10, 1928, in Kathryn, ND, to Elwin and Mabel (Andrud) Sanders.  She attended Garden City High School.  Muriel was united in marriage to Wilmer Forrey on July 2, 1947, in Blue Earth.  She was a homemaker for her children and was a career Marine wife, regularly moving her family from coast to coast.  Muriel enjoyed traveling, birds, flowers, her dogs, reading, and especially spending time with her family.

Muriel is survived by her five children, Brenda Forrey of Savage, Steve (Cindy) Forrey of Hastings, Doug (Lita) Forrey of Apple Valley, Sandra (Sam) Colling of Jordan, and Mike (Laura) Forrey of Carver; twelve grandchildren, Graham Joachim, Shanon Fair, Allison (KC) Murphy, David Forrey, Daniel (Mindy) Forrey, Kris Forrey, Sara (Neil Koch) Forrey, Tami Forrey, Rhianon (Andy) Stromberg, Rebecca Colling, Matthew (Erica) Colling, and Jonathan Forrey; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton Sanders of Rochester and Elwin Sanders of Mankato; two sisters, Shirley Browning of Minneapolis and Norma Liberkowski of New Brighton; brother-in-law, David Forrey of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Wilmer in 2012.
