Grace Ann Biehn

Grace Ann (Beer) Biehn, 101, of Mankato, died May 24, 2016 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.

Grace was born October 15, 1914 to Anthony and Walburga (Hutter) Beer in Sharon Township, Le Sueur County, MN. She attended and graduated from Cleveland, MN in 1933. In 1934 she married Burdette “Babe” Biehn at the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland, MN. Together they raised six children. For several years, she was co-owner of Park Lane Liquor in Mankato and was later employed by Associated Engineering of Mankato until her retirement.

 Grace was a charter member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. She was a member of the area Catholic Daughters and volunteered for the Good Counsel Auxiliary, Hillcrest Health Care Center, and Mankato Lutheran Home. In her free time, Grace enjoyed playing cards, doing crafts, and socializing with family and friends.   

Grace is survived by her children, Marvin “Sonny” (Dawn) Biehn of Mankato, Phyllis (Les) Schneider of Mankato, Gary Biehn of Pueblo, CO, and James (Karen) Biehn of Phoenix, AZ; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Burdette “Babe” in 1970; daughter, Marian Soverign; son, Michael Biehn, granddaughter, Brandie Biehn, sisters, Alice and Teresa; and brothers, Martin, Al, and Tony.

Memorials may be given to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church or donor’s choice.
