Jeanette Eileen Kendall, 80, Eagle Lake, passed away April 12, 2016 at her home.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30am, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Mankato Mortuary (1001 N. Riverfront Drive). Graveside service will take place at 1pm, Tuesday, April 19 at Tivoli Cemetery, rural Mankato, with Pastor Dave Laughlin of New Creation World Outreach Church officiating.
Jeanette was born Sept. 10, 1935 to William and Martha Wieskamp in Firth, Nebraska. She married Phillip Kendall on Sept. 10, 1952 in Lincoln. She was employed as an administrative secretary at the Lincoln High School and the Limebach Elementary School, Sacramento, CA and San Jose School District, CA, where she was well known for her organizational and people skills. She finished her career at Mankato State University at the Registrar’s Office as a File and Microfilm Room Clerk. Also during her career she became a licensed real estate agent in Apple Valley, CA and worked for Atwood Smith in Mankato. In her retirement years, she was a personal care giver to her beloved husband, Phillip, giving him dignity during his 11 years of dementia.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Phillip Kendall, Jr., of Eagle Lake; two sisters, Florence (Donald) Essink, Lincoln and Amy (Ray) Risen, York, NE; and her Siamese cat, Rufus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Kendall; parents; brothers, Melvin Wieskamp and Wilbur Wieskamp; and sister, Margaret Daly.
