Jingyang Guo

October 18, 1934 – April 10, 2016

Jingyang Guo passed away peacefully on April 10, 2016 at Mankato Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held from 2-4pm, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary (2060 Commerce Dr,, North Mankato, MN 56003).

Jingyang was born on October 18, 1934 in Bin County, Heilongjiang Province, China. He graduated from Shenyang Nonferrous Metals School in 1953. After graduation, he worked for the General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals in Beijing until 1965. He was then transferred to an affiliated Nonferrous Metals Company in Ning Xia Province, where he had worked for another 30 years as a researcher until 1994. In 2004, he moved to Minnesota to live with his son’s family. In his retired years, he enjoyed reading, watching TV, practicing Chinese calligraphy, and staying with his family.

Jingyang is survived by his wife, Yajun Liu; his son Liang Guo; two daughters, Yuan Guo and Yu Guo; daughter-in-law, Fei Yuan; two sons-in-law, Zhenyuan Liu and Chuhui Chen; and four grandchildren, Lucas Guo, Eric Guo, Jinhong Liu, and Xinyu Chen.
