David Douglas Frederick, age 64, born August 21, 1951 in Mankato, MN, passed away at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis, on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at All Saints Catholic, Madison Lake. Interment with Military Honors will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4–7 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2016 at Northview–North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive in North Mankato. Also one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.

David was the seventh of seventeen children of Cletus and Valeria (Haefner) Frederick. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1969, Mankato VoTech in 1970 with a degree in auto mechanics, and MSU in 1981 with a degree in construction management. David served his country in the US Navy Seabees from 1970-1972. He was married to Loree Tressler, later divorced. He worked for Caterpillar in the Service Department for 5 years, Denver International Airport as Construction Inspector for 8 years, and the City of Aurora as Construction Inspector for 17 years. David lived in Aurora, CO for 30 plus years and moved back to MN after his retirement. He was a member of Madison Lake American Legion Post 269, MSU Vets Club and worked on the Madison Lake Veterans Memorial. David enjoyed spending time with his son Taylor, especially elk hunting in Colorado. He also loved his time with family, friends, socializing, playing cards and most recently helping his nephew Max at the hardware store in Madison Lake.

David is survived by his son, Taylor Frederick, Englewood, CO; his mother, Valeria Frederick, Madison Lake, MN; brothers and sisters, Clem Frederick, Mankato, MN, Barb Hoffman, Mankato, MN, Rosie (Darryl) Hoffman, Benson, MN, Linda Franke, Kansas City, MO, Larry (Barb) Frederick, Johnstown, CO, Virginia (Chuck) Flitter, Pemberton, MN, Nick (Linda) Frederick, North Mankato, MN, Andy (Marilyn) Frederick, St. Peter, MN, Mary Kay (Len) Carpenter, Eagle Lake, MN, Clete (Kim) Frederick, Eagle Lake, MN, Ralph (Nan) Frederick, Duluth, MN, Linnette (Pat) Anderson, Madison Lake, MN, Philip Frederick (Kathy Bouley) Dayton, MN, Darlene (Jim) Dauk, Eagle Lake, MN; sister-in-law, Caroline Frederick, North Mankato, MN; numerous amazing nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Cletus Frederick in December, 2001; twin brother, Danny Frederick, October 2013, brother, Claver Frederick, May 2014; brothers-in-law, Willie Franke, January 2013 and Jim Hoffman, March 2016.
