James Dale Lamoreux

James Dale Lamoreux, 64, of St. Peter died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at New Brighton Care Center in New Brighton, MN after a courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary in North Mankato. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lake Crystal Cemetery.

Jim was born October 2, 1951 to Dale and Margaret (Sorenson) Lamoreux in Mankato Minnesota. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1971. On May 9, 1987 he married Deb Curry. Together they raised Jesse and later divorced. Some of Jim’s favorite activities included watching movies, listening to music, especially rock, doing scratch offs, and had a deep love of fishing. Jim was known to be a caring man with a big heart. He was a great friend who will be greatly missed by many.  

Jim is survived by his son, Jesse (Brittni) Lamoreux of Mounds View, MN; step-daughter, Libby Christensen of Seattle, WA; mother, Margaret Schneider of St. Peter; sister, Eva Moore of St. Peter; brother, Dick (Jane) Lamoreux of St. Peter; and half-sisters, Lori and Lisa Schneider of Mankato. He is preceded in death by his father, Dale; step-father, Ed Schneider; and grandparents.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
