Elroy Hopp

Elroy Albert Hopp, 89, formerly of North Mankato, died Friday, March 4, 2016, at The Lutheran Home, Belle Plaine.

Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nicollet. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.   Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Lutheran Home or Trinity Church. Arrangements with Mankato Mortuary.

Elroy was born August 28, 1926, to Louis and Alma (Schroeder) Hopp. He attended Trinity School and Nicollet H.S. He was a lifelong member of Trinity. In 1948 he married Gloria Enter, and they had seven children. Gloria died in 1989. Elroy married Myrna Diaz on July 16, 1994, and they had one daughter. He farmed, drove truck, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and polka music.

Survived by his wife, Myrna and their daughter, Jennifer, of Mankato; five children and their families, Duane Hopp of Texas, Allan (Patricia) Hopp of North Mankato, Janell (Andy) Grannan of Arizona, Julie (Brian) Miner of Belle Plaine, Joan (David) Runke of Wisconsin; and nieces and nephews.  Preceding Elroy in death were his parents, his first wife Gloria, two sons (Darryl and Brian), and three sisters.
