Mollie P. Johnson

Mollie P. Johnson, age 96, of Lake Crystal, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Crystal Seasons. 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Andrea Myers officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at Fasken Cemetery in Jasper, MO on Saturday, March 5.  Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Mission Quilters. 

Mollie was born on March 8, 1919 in Weld County, CO to Ulyses and Alimina (Howe) Yoes.  Mollie grew up in Missouri and graduated from Carthage High School.  She worked various jobs over the years, but spent many years as an employee for Target at their first store.  Mollie enjoyed quilting, gardening, and baking. She made excellent pies, cookies, and banana bread.  She was known for her correspondence with people and her “newsie” letters throughout the years. 

Mollie is survived by her children, Ray Madline, Pam Perez, and Laura (Don) Bogenreif; daughter-in-law, Heather Peter; step-children, Larry (Linda) Johnson and Steve Johnson; sister, Pauline McCormick; sister-in-law, Ellen Yoes; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Joseph Madline; 2nd husband, Marvin Johnson; son, Joe; step-children, Vaughn, Richard, and Charlene; granddaughter, Elizabeth; siblings, Austin, Russell, and Esther; brothers-in-law, James and Herbert; and sister-in-law, Mavis.
