Roy F. Bartsch, age 85, of Rapidan, died Monday, February 22, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church, Rapidan. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, and will continue one hour before service at the church on Friday.  Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, rural Rapidan.  Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Hour, St. John Lutheran Church, or the donor’s choice.

Roy was born August 2, 1930 to Arthur and Edna (Fischer) Bartsch.  He was baptized, confirmed, and was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Rapidan.  After attending grade school and high school he graduated from Rapidan High School in 1948.  Roy was a farmer in the Rapidan area and also was employed at Honeymead Products from 1956-1993. Roy enjoyed going on short trips, fishing, attending auctions and garage sales, and going to coffee with his Honeymead retirees monthly. 

Roy is survived by his sister, Norma (Roland) Harms of Good Thunder; sister-in-law, Beverly Bartsch of Madison Lake; cousins, Merton Bartsch and Glen Bartsch; several nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Laverne Bartsch; nephew, David Harms; and his favorite dog, Bebe.
