Harold “Frosty” J. Thomas, age 85, of rural Cambria, died on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the Cambria Presbyterian Church with Rev. Penny Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at the Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at the Cambria Cemetery.
Harold James was born January 1, 1931 on the family farm in Butternut Valley Township, Blue Earth County to Thomas and Martha (Miller) Thomas. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1949. Frosty was united in marriage to Marian J. Dackins on August 18, 1955 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal. Frosty was a farmer his entire life on the family farm. He enjoyed ice fishing and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling with friends, playing cards with the guys in Cambria, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Frosty was a member of the Cambria Presbyterian Church, a past elder, member of the Cambria Cemetery Association and was past President.
Frosty is survived by his wife, Marian of rural Cambria; children, James Thomas of rural Hanska, Debra (Michael) Bradley of Hutchinson, and Vicky Thomas (special friend, Chris Krouskop) of Reno, NV; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Frosty was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vern Thomas and Gene Thomas; and sisters, Elaine Olson and Doris Eigenbrodt.
