Viola "Tootie" M. Bresser

Viola “Tootie” Marie Bresser, age 92, of Lake Crystal, passed away in her home at Oaklawn Health Care Center, on Sunday, January 24, 2016.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal, with Rev. Andrea Myers, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato Minnesota. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Viola was born June 16, 1923 in Mankato, Minnesota to Herman and Lulu (Backus Vine) Schutte. She was nicknamed “Tootie” by her parents due to her small size as an infant. She was married to RM Hanson, now deceased, and together they had a daughter, Beverly. She later married Robert Bresser on February 3, 1954 and they had three sons; Michael, Mark, and Bryon. Tootie loved spending time with her family in addition to gardening, especially roses, cooking, and needle work.

Tootie is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Larry) Hawker of Lake Crystal and sons, Michael (Karen) Bresser of Madison Lake and Bryon Bresser of Mankato; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and extended family.

Tootie was preceded in death by husband, Robert in 2010; son, Mark in 1988; sister, Lillian Zlodi; and brothers, Robert Schutte and Arnold “Bud” Schutte.
