Sharon Lee Bomsta

Sharon Lee Bomsta, 75 of Elysian, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Marys Campus in Rochester surrounded by her loving family.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11am, Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary (2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN 56003) with visitation two hours prior. Pastor Brad Jackson of Crossview Covenant Church will officiate.

Sharon was born March 27, 1940 in Sioux Falls, SD to Glenn and Ruby (Damm) Simpson. She was united in marriage to Larry Bomsta on June 2, 1970 in Elk Point, SD. For over 30 years, Sharon owned Sharon’s Cleaning Service. What gave Sharon the most joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of over 45 years, Larry Bomsta of Elysian; children, Terry (Carol) Vanderberg of NY, Tim (Sheri) Vanderberg of IL, Teresa (Mike) Haugen of North Mankato, Tanya (Jayne Larsen) Vanderberg of Elysian, and Scott Bomsta of AZ; grandchildren, Kelli (Matt) Smith, First Lieutenant Claire Vanderberg, Jared (Sandi) Vanderberg, Sargent Travis (Thea) Vanderberg, Katlynn (Eric Weedman) Pearson, Erik Vanderberg, and Joshua (Becca) Vanderberg; 6 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Tarynn, Teagan, Emma, Noah, Olivia, and one on the way, Larry; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
