Betty Maureen Othoudt, age 92, of Vernon Center, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Grace United Methodist Church in Vernon Center, with Rev. Dan Kocher officiating.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Lake Crystal Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  Interment will be in Vernon Center Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.

Betty was born December 27, 1922, in Vernon Center to John and Georgia (Leas) Kienholz.  She was a graduate of Garden City High School.  Betty was united in marriage to Ray Othoudt on March 24, 1946, in Iowa.  She had been employed at MidTex in Mankato for many years.  She also drove special needs children to Mankato to attend school.  Betty was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Vernon Center.  In retirement, she enjoyed going to yard sales, watching the Minnesota Twins, and doing crossword puzzles.  Betty and Ray were active volunteers in the Vernon Center community.

Betty is survived by her four children, Michael Othoudt of Buffalo, SD, Terry (Janet) Othoudt of Vernon Center, Marsha Othoudt of Oakdale, and Kathy Volkmann of Mankato; three grandchildren, Nikki (special friend, Greg Gimmer) Sorgatz, Daniel (special friend, Meg McNamara) Volkmann, and James (Kelly) Othoudt; four great-grandchildren, Carson, Connor, and Delana Othoudt, and Emelia Volkmann; sister-in-law, Gerry Othoudt; and also nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray on February 25, 2006; three sisters, Myrtle (Merton) Harkins, Lillian (Ellsworth) North, and Verna (Alvin) Hohenstein; and one brother, Lloyd (Verna) Kienholz.
