Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday November 12, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker in Mankato. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be given to VINE. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Shirley Ann Kachelmyer was born December 23, 1927 in rural Mankato to Aloysius and Margaret (Kreutzer) Rausch. Being the oldest daughter Shirley helped raise her siblings. She graduated from Mankato Loyola in 1946. Following graduation she worked for Dr. Butzer in Mankato. Shirley was married to Fred Kachelmyer on June 15, 1948 and maintained the family farm near Rapidan. Following her divorce she moved to Mankato and worked at Brett's Department Store. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato. Shirley enjoyed spending time at her lake cabin on East Battle Lake, playing cards especially cribbage and Pfeiffer. She also enjoyed baking and spending time with her family. She had a good sense of humor and maintained that till the day she died. Shirley is survived by three sons, Lyle (Linda) of Otter Tail, Alan (Karen) Bedford, MA, John (Kathy) of Mankato; eight grandchildren, Kacey, Laura, Kari, Eric, Terri, Nathan, Kristin, and Kallie; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha (Mel) Dressel, Mary (Larry) Culligan. Preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Robert, Kenneth, Paul, Mark, Luke, Richard, Patricia, and Rita; special friend, Leonard Jirik.
