Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2202 Delores O. Schonrock, age 95 of Mapleton, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at Laurel's Peak in Mankato. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton with Pastor Vicki Hultine officiating. Burial in Decoria Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Delores was born February 16, 1920 to Herman and Minnie (Marble) Ziegler in Rapidan, Minnesota. Following school Delores helped on the family farm delivering produce to the general store and with her sisters cleaning houses. Delores was proud of helping the war effort during World War II as a Rosie Riveter at Kato Engineering. Delores also worked as an aid at Immanuel Hospital in Mankato. She was united in marriage to Ervin Schonrock in Winnebago. They moved to the Mapleton area in 1949 and farmed with Delores raising sheep and chickens in which she took great pride. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Mapleton and was also a Ladies Aid member. Delores and her husband were longtime members of National Farmers Union and the neighborhood birthday club. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking, gardening, fishing, driving tractor and taking her grandchildren shopping. Delores is survived by her two children, Marlin Schonrock of Mapleton, Carol (Glenn) Stoffregen of Easton; five grandchildren, Wesley (Julie) Schonrock, Chad (Shelia) Schonrock, Tricia (Chad) Hagedorn, Michelle (Daniel) Straumann, Andrew (Megan) Birr; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, John (LaVerta) Ziegler of Sandstone; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ervin, and eight siblings.
