Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Roberta Naylor Schuster, age 78 of Mankato, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Water's Edge Living Center. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2015, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato, with Rev. Tim Reker officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary, with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service and Rosary. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Boy Scout Camp Cuyuna, Twin Valley Council, 810 Madison Avenue, Mankato, MN, 56001. Roberta was born January 10, 1937, in Galva, Iowa to Robert and Cleta (Smith) Nelson. She married Robert Naylor on June 1, 1957, in Woodstock, MN. They made their home in Mankato, where they worked and raised their family. Roberta taught in the Pemberton and Rapidan elementary schools, was a Cub Scout den mother, and a Campfire Girl leader. After Robert's death in 1987, Roberta continued living in Mankato and raising their family. On August 19, 1989, she married Paul Schuster in Mankato. Roberta enjoyed gardening, reading, birds, traveling, playing cards, and square dancing. Roberta worked as the CCD Director for over 15 years at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, where she was also a devoted member. She was an officer for the ExPOW/MIA Hiawatha Chapter and a member of the Garden Club. Roberta is survived by her five children and their spouses, Doug (Vera) Naylor of Grand Marais, Mary (Dr. Fredrick) Mitzel of Oriska, ND, Kathy (Brian) Mundahl of Bloomington, Patricia (Mike) Knox of Rosebud, SD, and Brian (Tara) Naylor of Mankato; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Nirk of Oelwein, IA; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Naylor; husband, Paul Schuster; sister, Beulah Rainwater; brother, Charles Nelson; and grandson, Kevin Patrick Mundahl.
