Curtis, age 89, of North Mankato, died peacefully, Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015, at St. John's Episcopal Church, Mankato with Fr. Paul Rider, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John's Episcopal Church. Lilas "Ricky" was born March 14, 1926, to Charlie and Elsie (Mahnke) Rick in Litchfield. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1944 where she was Homecoming Queen. She married Robert H. Curtis and they later divorced. Ricky was a stay at home mom for her two sons and later on worked for the Lorraine Shop for many years. Ricky enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, listening to country music, and watching reruns of the Lawrence Welk Show. She cherished being with her family and going for rides. Ricky is survived by her two sons, Gary (Merry Anne) Curtis of Breezy Point and Brian (Becky) Curtis of Mankato; three grandchildren, Doug (Lindsey) Curtis of Mapleton, Dan Curtis of Mankato, and Amy (Dan) Crissman of Rosemount; special friend, Mel Krueger of North Mankato; two siblings, Delly (Shirley) Rick of Litchfield and Vivian Leidman of Paynesville; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Ricky was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
