Koch, age 78 of Eagle Lake died unexpectedly surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. John Kunz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m., Tuesday at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary and continue one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Jack was born February 11, 1937 in Minneota, Minnesota to John and Ann (Sanders) Koch. He graduated from Minneota High School. After high school, he farmed with his family and worked for the Conservation Service in Marshall. He served in the US Army National Guard. Jack was proud to graduate with a degree in biology and chemistry from Mankato State University. While in college, he worked at Madsen's as a meat cutter. He was united in marriage to Elaine Blomme on December 28, 1968 in Marshall. Jack then began his much-loved career at Cargill Seeds working until he reached the age of 70. Those who knew and loved Jack could find him at St. John the Baptist Church, in his fishing boat, duck boat, deer stand, his garden, woodshop, playing pool or cards, and with his family. Jack loved to tease and joke with everyone. Jack is survived by his wife, Elaine of Eagle Lake; three children, Licia (Dallas) Robertson of St. Paul, Mark Koch of Sartell, MN, Matthew (Jessica) Koch of Germany; four grandchildren, Grace and Anya Robertson, Lucy and Annie Koch; four sisters, Felicia Dhaene of St. Peter, MN, Helen (Bob) Anderson, Vonnie Rauchman both of North Mankato, Lois (Paul) Schmidt of Mankato; mother-in-law, Kate "Shorty" (Jim) LaVoy of Marshall; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Audrey Kloos; father-in-law, Leo Bloome.
