Lake Crystal Mortuary 648 S. Main Street Lake Crystal, MN 56055 (507) 726-6161 Maurice Crowley, loving husband and father died peacefully September, 19th, 2015. He was 92 years old. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 26th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 212 1st Street NE, Madelia, MN. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia, Friday, September 25th 4-7 pm. Lake Crystal Mortuary assisted with arrangements. Maurice was born to Grace (Bucholz) and John Crowley on August 15, 1923. He attended school at Tivoli country school and later, Mankato High School. He graduated in 1941. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1944 and served in Texas until the wars end. He married Agnes Noy in October of 1946. The newly married couple moved to a farm east of Madelia where they lived for 47 years. They moved to Madelia in 1993. Maurice was very active in the community his entire life. He was a member of the Bundy Township School board until its closure. He belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church serving on the Cemetery Board, school board and the St. Joseph Society. He was a strong supporter of 4H for decades. He was a local 4H leader and served on the Tri-County Fair board for many years. He was an avid conservationist serving on the ACS board for many years. Locally he was an active member of the Sportsmanship Club, VFW and an avid fan of local high school athletics. He had a great love for hunting and fishing and accompanied many friends doing both. He took up snowmobiling and brought the sport to many local people. He spent a lot of time at the cabin near Remer with family and friends. Locally, he spent time at the coffee shop, bowling, golfing, and playing cards. He was instrumental in organizing the Madelia Honor Flight to Washington D.C. for local veterans. He loved spending time with his grandkids, great-grandkids and grand dogs. Maurice is survived by his sister; Marian Qualset; his children, Linda Crowley, Judy (Ed) Donoghue, Carla (Walter) Johnson, Pat Crowley, John Crowley, Bill (Kim) Crowley, Kate (Mark) Warmka, Deb (Tom) Trio, Kevin (Jim Maurice) Crowley; grandchildren, Ed Donoghue, Mike (Erin) Donoghue, Ali (Adam) Holdorf, Samantha and Cody Crowley, Mandy and Sara Warmka, Pete, Abby, and Luke Trio. Great-grandchildren; Maddie and Maeve Donoghue, and Oliver Holdorf. Also step-grandchildren Andy and Julie Johnson and their children, Sam, Kate, Luke and Grace, Tim and Michele Johnson and children, Kyra and Gus, Jessica and James Ecklund and Megan Grothe, and son Aiden; finally family pets, Emma, Tillie, Junior and Kitty Cat, He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Aggie, his sister Ivonne and daughter-in-law, Kristi. He will greatly missed by his family and friends.
