Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Gordy Lingbeck of Mankato died unexpectedly of a heart attack on September 11 at the young age of 73. He spent his last healthy days playing golf with family and friends. He was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, business partner and friend. Gordy worked at Mankato Service Company for 27 years. In 1988, Gordy and his son Troy opened G & L Auto Supply. He was so proud and worked hard to build a good company. Quality parts and trusting business relationships were the foundation for his success. He was a member of the Mankato Golf Club for many years and enjoyed golfing with his "Thursday Night Group"!! He loved to spend time with his family and was always on the hunt to find something to fix while we were busy playing. His grandchildren meant the world to him and he dearly looked forward to all the times we would get together! He is survived by his wife Patty of 54 years; son, Troy (Kim) Lingbeck of Eagle Lake; daughters, Terri (Craig) Robb of Burnsville and Debbie (John) Dittrich of St. Paul; six grandchildren, Hailey (Chris) Larson, Caleb, Noah, and Josh Robb, and Nate and Paige Lingbeck; sister, Marcheen VanGuilder of Bloomington; brother, Delmar Lingbeck of California. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ivadel Lingbeck; and brother, Roger. A Celebration of Gordy's life will be held on Sunday, September 20th from 3:00 - 7:00 at the Mankato Golf Club to honor this wonderful man.
