Charles Perry Blythe, age 64, of Lake Crystal, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary, 648 S. Main Street, Lake Crystal and will continue one hour before service at Northview on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials to donor's choice. Perry was born July 15, 1951 to Charles Leroy and Norma Jean (Perry) Blythe in Hannibal, MO. He graduated from Brown County High School in Mt. Sterling, IL in 1969. Perry was united in marriage to Susan Fredericksen in 1973, they were married for 33 years before divorcing. Perry was co-owner of P & B Grain and Fertilizer in Mt. Sterling for several years. He also worked in car sales, he owned Crystal Motors in Lake Crystal, and was employed by Crystal Valley Co-op in Vernon Center for over 10 years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Perry was instrumental in starting a Girls' Softball program thru the Lake Crystal Community Ed Program. He coached Girls Softball for over 30 years and was also involved in other coaching activities. He enjoyed fast pitch softball, hunting and fishing, playing cards, bowling, and reading to his grandsons. Perry is survived by his three children, Karla (Kris) Dutton of Mankato, Jim Blythe of Iowa, and Anna Blythe and special friend, Mike Henningson of Winthrop; two grandsons, Tristan and Zachary Dutton; sister, Donna (Denver) Reische of Mt. Sterling, IL; nephew, Tony (Michelle) Reische of Mt. Sterling, IL; two great-nephews, Dalton and Dylan Reische; and cousin, Jane Nissen of Macomb, IL. Perry was preceded in death by his parents.
