Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56003 (507) 388-2288 Rodney Harold Kock, age 72, of Eagle Lake, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015, at St. Mark Ev. Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Keith Siverly officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Risen Savior Lutheran School in Mankato. Northview - North Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements. Rodney was born April 25, 1943, in Tyler to Harold and Mary Lou (Beaver) Kock. He was a 1961 graduate of Lake Benton High School and studied accounting at the Mankato Commercial College. Rodney was united in marriage to Beverley Brandenburg on September 21, 1963, in New Richland. He was employed in the Mankato area in various computer related positions. Rodney later worked at Menards and taught for the Highway Safety Center through St. Cloud State University. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Rodney is survived by his wife, Beverley of Eagle Lake; three children, Wendy (Paul) Gabica of Basalt, CO, Susan (Monte) Avina of North Mankato, and David (Karly) Kock of Mankato; seven grandchildren, Riley Gabica, Ellie, Whitney, and Courtney Avina, Alisson, Bradon, and Caitlyn Kock; three sisters, Cheryl Van Devere of Marshall, Diane Muetzel of Dodge Center, and Pam (Eric) Sontag of Big Lake; one uncle, Vernon (Agnita) Kock of Tyler; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry and one sister, Barb.
