Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Northview- North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato. Burial Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation from 5 - 7 p.m., Friday at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service on Saturday. Berneal was born November 10, 1926 in Mankato to Benjamin and Ida (Krugel) Dodge. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1944 and attended Mankato Commercial College. Berneal was united in marriage to Robert Schindle on June 10, 1947 in Mankato. She worked for Pioneer Hi-Bred International. Berneal was a member of Eastern Star Cereal Chapter # 2 in Mankato and was also a member of Hilltop UMC. Berneal enjoyed reading and writing poetry, bird watching, walking, outdoor activities, quilting and crocheting. Berneal is survived by two sons, Larry Schindle of rural Mankato, Randy (Pam) Schindle of St. Clair; three grandsons, Bradley (Heather) Hofius of Owatonna, Benjamin Schindle of Mankato, Jacob Schindle of North Mankato; niece and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert in 1996; Brother Leon Dodge; sister, Helen Marti.
