Kenneth Eugene Gimmer Sr., age 81 of Mankato, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at Pathstone Living. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2015 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Richard Yevchak IVE officiating. Burial Calvary Cemetery - Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church Friday. Ken was born June 23, 1934 to Otto and Alice (Glackler) Gimmer in Cambria, MN. Ken was united in marriage to Virginia Hoffman, June 9, 1958 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Ken worked at Dotson Co. for many years. Ken enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, model cars, camping, casino trips, woodworking, and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Virginia; four children, Sue (Greg) Marx of Madison Lake, Linda (Ron) Hummer of Mapleton, Ken Jr. (Dezata) Gimmer of Mankato, Brian (fiancé Linda Fischenich) Gimmer of North Mankato; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Claudia Germo, Lois Jacobson both of Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin in 2005; grandson, Gary; four brothers, Melvin, Leslie, Byron, Marvin.
