Thomas E. Cashman, age 77, of Mankato, MN completed his difficult journey with Alzheimer's on August 9, 2015, at Autumn Grace Memory Care. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato, MN with Fr. Patrick Sullivan and Fr. John Kunz, con-celebrating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday with a 4 p.m. prayer service at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Visitation will continue one hour before service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials are preferred to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or donor's choice. Tom was born on April 24, 1938 to Edward and Kathleen (McLaughlin) Cashman in Mankato. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1956 and the University of Minnesota in 1960 with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Tom married Lynn Marleau on October 31, 1964 in St. Paul. He was co-owner of Feed Service Co., Inc. and Executive Vice-President of Northwest Agri-Dealers Association for 50+ years until his retirement in 2005. He served on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange Board, was a member of the MN Agri-Growth Council Executive Board and National Grain & Feed Association Feed Committee and was appointed by the Governor of MN to a six-year term to the Duluth Seaway Port Authority board of commissioners. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Mankato Golf Club, serving as President in 1973. Tom enjoyed golf, traveling, and spending time with his many friends and family. A true Irishman, with his beautiful blue eyes; always ready with a story and a sense of humor that was enjoyed by all. He will be missed by many. Tom is survived by his wife, Lynn; children: Tim Cashman, and his wife, Barb, and their sons, Matt and Kevin of Lenexa, KS, John Cashman and his spouse, Mike Groch of San Diego, CA, and Mark Cashman of Independence, OH and his son, Carlisle and step-sons, Andrew, Gregory, and Zach in Indianapolis, IN; brother, Dick Cashman and his wife, Sue of North Mankato; sisters, Ann Michaelis and her husband, Chuck of Santa Cruz, CA, Kathy Lamberger and her husband, Dave of Richfield, MN, and Pat Mathison and her husband, Greg of Orlando, FL; many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Kathleen.
