Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 507-388-2202 Sylvia G. Bruender, age 91 of North Mankato, died peacefully, Friday, August 7, 2015 at Oaklawn Health Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 15, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato with Rev. Paul van de Crommert officiating. Burial, Calvary Cemetery Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to MCHS - Hospice. Sylvia Bruender was born January 20, 1924 to Carl and Gertrude (Wittrock) Pidde in Mankato. After graduating from Good Counsel Academy, she attended Mankato Commercial College. She married Raymond Bruender on June 9, 1951 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. Her interests were knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, baking, bridge, traveling and genealogy. Sylvia is survived by two sons, David (Doris) Bruender, of St. Peter, Stephen (Lori) Bruender of Mankato; two daughters, Ramona (Michael) Raberge of Eagle Lake, Karen (Thomas) Schmoll of North Mankato; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary Rausch of Mankato, Alice Pidde of Bloomington; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 2006; and two brothers.
