Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 George Frank Sullivan, age 77, of Lake Crystal, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Oaklawn Health Care Center, Mankato. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Friday. Interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. George was born June 11, 1938 to George Edward and Mary Helen (Goettlicher) Sullivan in Mankato. He attended Loyola High School. George enlisted in 1957 serving his country during the Vietnam War with the US Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and then the reserves until retiring in 1980. He was united in marriage to Beverly J. Fritz on April 29, 1961 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. George was employed by the Lake Crystal Public School, CHS, and the St. Peter State Hospital where he retired. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Lake Crystal American Legion, and AA. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings Fan, an avid sports memorabilia collector, and enjoyed traveling. George is survived by his wife, Bev of Lake Crystal; four children, Ken Sullivan and special friend, Kirsten of Lake Crystal, Kim (Kevan) Cooper of Galesburg, IL, Keith (Heidi) Sullivan of Claremont, FL, and Kathy Johnson and special friend, Dave Carlson of Galesburg, IL; eight grandchildren, Alesha (Josh) Halvorson, Amanda Sullivan, Cassandra Schmitz, Marcus Schmitz, Miah Johnson, Braxsten Sullivan, Kylie Sullivan, and Briana Sullivan; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Jaymes, Audrick, Mason, and Hayden; five siblings, Patrick Sullivan of Perham, James Sullivan, Thomas (Barb) Sullivan, Susan Galles, and Lilly (Roger) Versteeg all of Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. George was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ashley Sullivan; six siblings, Jerry Sullivan, Betty Lotton, Lenore Fluent, Grace Lotton, Michael Sullivan, and John Sullivan.
