She graduated from Moundsview High School in Arden Hills, MN in 1965. On August 23rd, 1969 Mary and Gregg Asher were married. Mary retired in 2011 as the Computer Science department's Administrative Assistant at Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSUM). Prior to her service at MSUM she spent over 12 years as a Librarian at Mankato East High School. The common theme that underlines her career is her love and selflessly dedication to helping people. Her genuine honesty, caring personality, and loyalty were not unnoticed by those she helped. She took great pride in being the best she could be. Outside of Mary's career she was most devoted to her family and friends. Her real passion was her family and friends. She cherished every moment she was able to spend time with them. Through sickness and health she stood fast with her husband and son. She grew up with a large extended family that included many cousins who in actuality were more like siblings. Family and friends were her priority. This commitment is something that she passes along to all generations of her family. Mary enjoyed independent activities that included reading about history, cross stitching, lawn mowing, walking the family dog and relaxing at the lake. However, social activities and gatherings were where she was happiest. Being a dedicated hockey mom paved the way for new friends, new fun and memories. She was an avid fan of amateur sports with hockey being her favorite. Facebook provided limitless happiness allowing her to keep constant tabs on everyone. Mary is survived by her husband, Gregg; son, Keir and his wife Tricia and their children Griffin (grandson) and Emerson (granddaughter) of Eagle Lake, MN; father-in-law Warren of Minneapolis; sister Kathy Wallman and her husband Curt of Brooklyn Center, MN; sister Margaret (Peggy) Larson of Puyallup, WA; and the many beloved extended family members. Mary is preceded in death by her mother Marian Radke (Hood); father Carl Radke; sister Caroline Stephens; mother-in-law Amy Jean Asher; brother-in-law Dana Asher; grandson Gabriel Asher.
