Northview ~ North Manakto Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive, Mankato, MN 56003 507-388-2202 A funeral service for Annette Sexe, age 91 of Mankato will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mankato at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 with Pastor Paul Lauer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Rapidan. Northview~ North Mankato Mortuary has been entrusted with final arrangements. Annette Louise (Kueker) Sexe was born June 29, 1924 in Truman to Hugo and Martha (Niemeier) Kueker, the oldest of nine children. After eighth grade, she came to Mankato in order to help support her family, as her dad was ill. Annette married Bernhard Herrlich and enjoyed many wonderful years together before his death in 1954. Annette worked hard to support her two children, Karen and Dale; usually working two jobs a day. Annette worked in food service for many years at MSU and also as a housekeeper for the Free Press. She loved to cook at local restaurants: Hidden Inn, El Seis' and Brett's to name a few. Later in life Annette found happiness again when she met and married Marshall Sexe. She loved to spend time with him outdoors; whether it was gardening, bird watching or fishing. They enjoy travelling and wintering in Harlingen, TX. Annette's life was dedicated to her family; she worked hard to support them and loved getting to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When Alzheimer's started to cloud Annette's mind, she moved to Cottagewood Senior living where she passed away July 7, 2015 surrounded by the family she loved. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Raymond) Browning of Good Thunder; grandchildren, Bridgett (James) McMichael of Augusta, KS, Heath (Kelly) Browning of Hammond, WI, Brittany (Kevin) Morton of Eagle Lake, Missy (Matt) Clark of Rochester, Matt Herrlich of Rochester; great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Xavier, Savannah, Trinity, Rylee, Taylor, Emily, Eric; step children, Robert Sexe and Charles (JoAnne) Sexe; siblings, Delores Brandt of Albert Lea, Theodore (Dottie) Kueker of Rochester, George (Marcella) Kueker of Mankato; sisters-in-law, Vivian, Laura, Bonnie, and LaVonne. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernhard and her second husband, Marshall; son, Dale; step children, Harley and Sharon; sister, Marthy; brothers, Martin, Adolph, Vern and Gene.
