Mankato Mortuary 1001 North Riverfront Drive Mankato, Minnesota 56001 507-388-2202 Harry C. Barnard, age 93, of Good Thunder, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, MN, with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Harry Charles Barnard was born December 1, 1921, to Coral and Josephine (Wagner) Barnard. He married Marjorie Heins June 25, 1946. Harry graduated with a two-year degree from the University of Minnesota. He was a lifelong farmer who worked various jobs including Kato Engineering and operating the Lyra Township snowplow for many years. He served on the board of directors for 1st National Bank of Good Thunder, the Good Thunder Booster Club, St. John Lutheran Church trustee, cemetery board for Valley View Cemetery, the Good Thunder Pintail Club, and was a 29-year member of the Blue Earth County Chapter of Minnesota Pheasants Inc. Harry loved nature especially fishing, fox and deer hunting, playing and watching sports, restoring antique furniture, horseback riding, gardening, smoking fish and meats and enjoying time with his family. Harry is survived by Marge, his wife of 69 years; son Tom (Anna) of Burnsville and their children Christa (Mike) Close of Medina and children Caitlyn, Zachary and Maxwell; Matt (Kristen) of Apple Valley and children Ellery and Landry; Sarah Blake (Bryant) of Rock Springs, WY, and children Madison and Brynlee; son Richard "Dick" (Cheryl) of Good Thunder and their children Tracy Johnson (Mike) of Plymouth and children Justin, Kyle and Luke; Kim Allen (Dan) of Kasson and children Sophie and Garrett; and son Gary (Mary) of Blackduck and their children Katie of Bemidji; Adam (Emily) of Blackduck and children Riley, Jordin and Ashton; Joe (Joyce) of Good Thunder and son Deacon; one brother, Bill (Eloise) Barnard. Harry is preceded in death by grandson Jeff in 2006, brother and sister in law, George and Rosanne Barnard.
