Wallace Peter Molitor was born the first of four children on March 6, 1929 in Mankato to Jacob E. and Mary A. (Vogel) Molitor. He grew up on the family farm, was baptized in the Catholic faith and graduated from the country school. He met the love of his life at a dance and married Roberta M. Mans on May 7, 1951. Wally, as he was known by his family and friends, was a big man with a big heart and a great sense of humor. He loved to socialize and had many friends. Family and religion were a large part of his life and he was proud of the land God entrusted to him to farm, including the family homestead. Farming was his passion! The man worked hard and also played hard, enjoying hunting, fishing, bowling, cards, traveling, dancing, and John Wayne movies. Wally acquired his pilot's license early in life and owned three different airplanes before finally piloting on the ground in his much loved motor homes. Wally was involved in the Newmar Club, Flying Farmers, the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters and also served on the Nicollet school board. He was trustee and served on the building committee at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet. Wally will be missed by family and friends, his great sense of humor that was loved by all, appreciated by medical staff and prevailed to his last days. Blessed be his memory.
