Julaine "Jo" Ruth Larson

Northview-North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive North Mankato, MN 56001 Julaine "Jo" Larson, age 66, of North Mankato, died on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Horn officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Julaine was born on October 17, 1948 in Blue Earth to Alfred "Ted" and Judy (Mortvedt) Weise. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1966 and from Mankato State University with a degree in secondary education. On September 1969, Jo was united in marriage to Ron Larson in Elmore, MN. She worked for Fingerhut in Mankato and started on the ground floor at Cotter and Company, working her way up before becoming the first female operating manager for True Value. She worked there for many years before retiring. Jo was very involved at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church. She was the handbell director for many years and involved in the church choir, UMW, Ruth Circle, and the church youth group. Jo worked with the United Way in Mankato for many years also. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, traveling, collecting Dept. 56 village pieces, and dining out with friends. Jo is survived by her husband, Ron and several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and aunts and uncles.
